Editorial policy
Eastern Film Journal aims to be careful, clear and fair about films and the histories around them. We distinguish what can be checked from what is interpretation, and make our editorial choices visible to readers.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, titles and other factual details against suitable sources before publication. When context is disputed or incomplete, we say so rather than presenting a single account as settled. Interpretations are presented as readings, not facts that every viewer must accept.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for their relevance to the publication and its readers. A commercial relationship does not determine our coverage, and partner arrangements do not promise favourable editorial treatment.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or a misleading passage, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and detail. We review correction requests and amend published material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, sponsored or partner material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when that is the case, we identify them as such.
